Augustus Toplady and John Wesley had different view on theological subjects

Augustus Toplady and John Wesley had theological differences and disagreements, particularly regarding the doctrine of predestination.

Toplady was a Calvinist who believed in predestination, the idea that God has already determined who will be saved and who will not be saved. Wesley, on the other hand, rejected the idea of predestination and believed in the possibility of free will.

Toplady was critical of Wesley’s theology and his preaching style. In one of his publications, Toplady described Wesley’s preaching as “malignant enthusiasm” and accused him of promoting “man-made religion” rather than the true Gospel.
