About the Author and the story:
Legh Richmond was a man who lived a long time ago, from 1772 to 1827. He was a reverend and a writer and wrote a book called “The Annals of the Poor”. This book was written about people who lived in the countryside and were poor.
Richmond wrote about his own experiences as a reverend in the countryside. He wanted others to know the stories of God’s work into poor people soul’s and to remember this work for future generations. Through his writing, Richmond aimed to preserve these stories and keep God’s work alive for those who would come after him.
This short story of a Cottage Chat. As Richmond was traveling home from an trip outside in the nature, he sought refuge from an incoming rainstorm. He stumbled upon a cottage and overheard a conversation between the man and woman residing there, discussing money matters.
